Volunteer Mission Statement
To supplement the work of paid staff in delivering service that exceeds
the expectations of our patients, their families and the community; and
to ensure our volunteers meaningful work and the opportunity to learn
and grow.

Volunteers have always been an integral part of Central Washington Hospital's
health care team. The origins of Central Washington Hospital date to the
early 1900s with the formation of Central Washington Deaconess Hospital
and St. Anthony's Hospital. The hospitals merged and combined their operations
to become Central Washington Hospital in 1978. From the beginning, the earliest volunteers were working as part of the health care team to deliver outstanding service to the patients, staff, physicians and visitors.
You too can have the opportunity to be a part Central Washington Hospital
by Volunteering. Special skills are a bonus, but all you need to be a
CWH volunteer is a willing heart and a warm smile.

There are many volunteer opportunities at Central Washington Hospital:

- Hospital Volunteers
Front Entrance, Butterfly and Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) Information
Desks with morning, afternoon and evening shifts. Escorts, Newspaper Delivery,
Clerical, Library, Central Services, Mail Room, Print Shop, Engineering,
Packets, singers, Transitional Care Unit assistant, Gardener, Education,
Materials Management, Diagnostic Imaging; Family Liaison Program (RNs
only), and Junior Volunteer Summer Program (14-17 year olds).

Retail
- Guild House Volunteers
Reception desk
- Chaplain Volunteers
Assist the chaplain with patients' spiritual needs
- Hospice Volunteers
Visit end of life patients in-home or nursing home.
- Mended Hearts
Visit patients recovering from heart procedure

To pick up your application, the Volunteer Services office is open Monday
through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
