Brian Derrick, DO
Board Certified, Internal Medicine
Dr. Brian Derrick was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army and received his degree in Osteopathic Medicine from Oklahoma State University in 2002. In 2005 he completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Following his residency, Dr. Derrick was transferred to Fort Riley, Kansas where he was assigned as the Brigade Surgeon for the 4th Infantry Division.
About his service, Dr. Derrick writes, “Military service took my medical career in unique and unpredictable directions. Besides the challenges of practicing in austere and sometimes dangerous situations, I was very involved in the effort to restore medical infrastructure in Baghdad. This challenging task allowed me to work closely with the the Iraqi government and civilian healthcare leadership in an attempt to re-establish what had once been a robust healthcare system.”
Dr. Derrick returned from deployment in April 2008 before joining Central's Internal Medicine clinic. He and his wife, Teresa, have three children. In their spare time, they enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities.
