Community Health Needs Assessment
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) of 2010 mandated that hospitals conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and adopt an Implementation Plan. The PPACA also mandates that this Implementation Plan be made available to the public.
Central Washington Hospital (CWH) engaged Community Choice (a regional healthcare collaborative) to lead a collaborative approach in conducting a community health data collection and assessment process in partnership with a broad representation of individuals and business sectors. The population assessed was the four-county North Central Washington region (Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan and Grant counties).
