Insurance and Your Hospital Bill
All patients should be aware of terms of their insurance coverage. If there is a question about your insurance coverage, a representative of the Patient Services department will contact you or a member of your family while you are here. Please notify your insurance company of your admission. Depending on the type of insurance you have, we will need the following information to be able to process your claim:
If You Have Health Insurance
We will need a copy of your insurance identification card. Depending on the extent of your coverage and deductible requirements, you may be asked to pay a deposit. We also may need the insurance forms that are supplied by your employer or the insurance company.
Central Washington Hospital will submit bills to your insurance company. You should remember that your policy is a contract between you and your insurance company, and you have the final responsibility for payment of your hospital bill. We have several payment options available to assist you in paying your bill.
If You Are a Member of an HMO or PPO
Your plan may have special requirements, such as a second surgical opinion or pre-certification for certain tests or procedures. It is your responsibility to make sure the requirements of your plan have been met. If your plan is not followed, you may be financially responsible for all or part of the hospital services you receive. Some physicians may not participate in your plan, and their services may not be covered.
If You Have Medicare and/or Medicaid
We will need a copy of your Medicare and/or Medicaid card to verify eligibility and process your claim. These programs have payment limitations on the number of services and items. You are responsible for any deductibles and co-payments.
If You Have No Insurance
A social worker or other Central Washington Hospital staff member will discuss financial arrangements with you.
