Discharging Ambulatory Care Status 

When a patient status is “Ambulatory Care”, you do not perform the Depart Process to discharge the patient. 

• The Post Op Ambulatory Care Orderset, as well as the other ACU patient type ordersets, contains the discharge details for you to address. 

• They are located in the Admit/Transfer/Discharge and the Communications sections.
• Medication Reconciliation is not required for the Ambulatory Care status discharge.

**Note:  Should the patient status change from Ambulatory Care to Observation, you will then need to perform the Depart Process for discharging the patient.
