Depart Process Overview for Providers

1. Click on Depart button in the Action button toolbar.
2. Depart Process screen displays. Key screen elements include:  
• Diagnosis Band – If a discharge diagnosis has already been added during this encounter, it will display here and it will populate the patient’s printed Discharge Instructions Form. Review the diagnoses listed here and determine which are discharge diagnoses. To modify or add any diagnosis, click the pencil icon.
• Discharge Prescriptions Band – To create electronic prescriptions
• Physician Discharge Instructions Band – Use to document discharge instructions and discharge needs.
• Follow-Up Band – Follow-up instructions for the patient as well as instructions for when to be seen in follow up. 
3. Once these sections have been completed, click the Save/Close button in the lower right of the screen.
4. Continue with the Discharge/Depart process by accessing the Medication Report for Discharge document. View the related tutorial, Discharge Medication Reconciliation below for instructions.
