Nursing Students from Wenatchee Valley College

Footprints on My Heart received a special gift from Wenatchee Valley College nursing students in July 2012. Rachel Snow headed up a drive among the students to provide support for the program. Barb Lawson, Director of the Mother-Baby Unit, explained, “The student nurses at WVC made a donation to the program after experiencing the program while on clinical rotation in the Mother-Baby Unit.” Together the students made a gift of nearly $400.00 to support families who have experienced perinatal loss.

Footprints on My Heart exists “to provide a system which assists family members in identifying their needs, offers positive choices, and provides emotional and educational resources during this family crisis and during bereavement.” The FOMH Coordinator works with the family to assemble a memory box with photographs, footprints and handprints, and other mementoes.

The Foundation is pleased to acknowledge the compassion and generosity of Wenatchee Valley College nursing students, WVC Nursing faculty Melissa Fowler, and Barb Lawson who facilitated this gift. Gifts to Footprints on My Heart may be dropped off at the MBU or sent directly to the Foundation office.
