Wenatchee Valley Street Rods
In the fall of 2011, the Wenatchee Valley Street Rods announced a $10,000 gift to the Central Washington Hospital Foundation. The donation will benefit the Next Step Fund, toward the purchase of the LiteGait® Supported Walking Treadmill for our Rehabilitation Services. Through repetitive stimulation on the treadmill, brain injury and other types of patients are able to improve their ability to walk safely and securely.
In 2012, the Street Rods generously donated $4,500 to our Compassionate Care through Mammography program.
Since 2005, the Street Rods have offered three $1,000 scholarships to deserving Central Washington Hospital employees for a higher education.
The Street Rods, a guild for the Foundation for eleven years, have donated more than $128,000 to the Hospital from proceeds of its annual Apple Run classic car show, held each June at Confluence State Park. In February of 2013, the Street Rods made the difficult decision to dissolve as a guild, and the much-loved Apple Run classic car show will no longer grace our valley with its wonderful opportunities for family fun. The legacy the guild has left will continue to support its scholarships for Central Washington Hospital employees for years to come.
